| Cleft lip and palate are delivery defects that take place although a baby is establishing in the uterus. In the course of the 6th to tenth week of being pregnant, the bones and tissues of a baby's upper jaw, nose, and mouth usually occur jointly (fuse) to form the roof of the mouth and the higher lip. If the tissue in the developing mouth and the palate never fuse together, a child could be born with a cleft lip or cleft palate, or equally. |
